The Lost Sock was the first (and only) feature-length film ever to be totally created in Felixstowe, Suffolk - conceived here, created here, filmed and edited here, with local actors, locations and extras!

It's a genuine community effort - around 100 local people, businesses, services and others took part.

It wasn't funded by anyone, and no-one got paid anything at all.

The original episode format is now being reloaded, in a better quality version, to introduce a new generation of unsuspecting victims to the film!

If you enjoy it, that's great . . . but don't forget that from the viewpoint of the people who made it, is was a long time ago. Some of the actors are now studying and working in theatre and drama full-time, and members of the crew are working professionally in TV and media.

Most of us wouldn't be doing what we doing now if we hadn't done this!

I

Enjoy!

The only film premiere ever to take place in Felixstowe was on Sunday 9th July, 2006 - it was, of course, The Lost Sock!
In the best tradition of movie publicity, we made our own movie of the opening itself, with the amazing Ruth Dugdall in charge of proceedings!

premiere1 It really was a very glittery moment, when the limo drew steadily to a stop and the first few people stepped out! It then had to go around the block a few more times, picking up over 20 people to be deposited at the bottom of the steps!

premiere 2Each car load was greeted either oiutside or indoors by Ruth Dugdall and her trusty cameraman Clive Garnham, and they gathered interviews with all the key people involved in the production (except for some, who they didn't recognise!)
