The Background:At a community arts "do", organised and hosted by The Felixstowe Scribblers, Chris Gosling of the fledgling Felixstowe TV said to Dave Feakes . . ."What we should do is make a multipart series, a kind of soap-opera, running over five, 5-minute episodes." Since then . . . The script turned out to be a ten-part science-fiction movie, which became eleven parts to try to keep the running times reasonable, with a great story, super parts for local actors, and a real place in amongst the drama and humour for real-life locations, businesses, and local people. Local businesses, local councillors, BBC Radio Suffolk presenters, the Port of Felixstowe ambulance service, the police . . . they've all been involved, and given their help freely and generously. And it has been an experience that many of the participants wouldn't have missed. You need broadband to see the movies, unless you are prepared to wait for a very long time to let them download! |
